The origin of the legendary mountain spring “Drini i Bardhe”, which roughly translates as “White River”, is found in the heart of the Dinaric Alps on the southern Balkan Peninsula at a height of 2,240 meters in a wild untouched natural landscape amid majestic mountains. This Mediterranean region forms part of the ‘European Green Belt’ and is protected by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It's a Natural Wonder of the World.
For centuries, our spring has been celebrated and used by the people of the region as a source of mineral water and is said to have healing properties. It takes an average of 70 years for the water to reach the source after the initial rainfall. After percolation through countless layers of rock, natural filtration through the interior of the mountains, and a process of mineralization and stratification, the water finally reaches the surface again. As a result of this extended stratification in one of the world’s largest underground cave systems, the water is enriched with a blend of minerals and transformed.
The water is bottled right at the source and so remains unspoiled – it first is sealed in the caverns of the mountain and is never touched by daylight during the bottling process.
