Wossa, or "water" in the local dialect, is sourced from the Marbel Spring (Marmorquelle) in the beautiful Lavanttal valley in Carinthia, Austria. Carinthia is a southern Austrian region in the eastern Alps that encompasses Austria's highest mountain.
The source, is located at 1.110m (3.000 ft) on a 300-year-old homestead, and the water has been the source for hydration for people and animals ever since the farm's inception. There is no cultivation in the area above the source, and the farm is run for more than a generation on ecological and biological principles (Biologisch Wertvoller Betrieb).
The water is bottled at the source by hand in a small custom-built facility as a premium artisanal product with low volume production. The water from the spring flows by gravity into the bottling facility and it is never pumped by any mechanical means. The stunning glass presentation with a genuine wood closure will undoubtedly be reused as a vase or bottle in the home or kitchen.
For a water from Austria, Wossa is surprisingly light with a low TDS of 13 mg/l. Wossa has a focused character and feels young, fresh, soft, neutral, and round. It is a pleasant contrast to the sparkling high minerality waters usually found at a table in Austria.
