The brand's name and the water originates with the village of Kuohu, situated in the middle of Finland, surrounded by clear lakes and evergreen forests, and with a rapid stream running through it.
The Kuohu village and its area have 230 kilometers of firm bedrock beneath, and the bedrock is the key to the groundwater's incredible purity and taste. Kuohu water is super low on minerals, resulting in a uniquely soft taste and delicate composition.
As luck would have it, the Kuohu village sits on top of aquifers that have provided the locals with fresh, clean water for generations. Kuohu draws the water from these same aquifers. The deepest source is from 200 meters underground, and even our shallowest source is 45 meters deep. The quality of these sources and of the water they offer has been appraised and officially acknowledged for decades.
Around 40 years ago, the first company in Finland to produce bottled water used one of the sources. Kuohu Artesian Waters was founded in 2019 to continue the tradition of bottling water made by Finnish nature.
The Kuohu production is designed to respect nature around its source, and a best practice applies to protect the environment around it.
Kuohu is bottled at the source in glass, and nothing is filtered out or added during the production and packaging process.. There is also no plastic in any of the pipes of the production lines as well as the bottles.
